Annual Certification Renewal

Renewal notices for the 2012 Certifications were emailed to all Certified Members Wednesday, October 5, and Friday, November 4. Please renewal as soon as possible. To renew, log into the AAEE Center, and go to "Renew Now." If you are logging in for the first time, your log in name is your primary email address. Your temporary password is Password1. The system will force you to change passwords. Once you have successfully logged in, follow the simple instructions. For help, contact Joyce Dowen at JDowen@aaee.net; or call 410.266.3311. Please review and update your Personal Data under "My Information" no later than December 31, 2011. It is important to make corrections in your "My Information" file to ensure those changes are printed in the 2012 edition of Who's Who in Environmental Engineering.

AAEE is Giving Away a Canon EOS Rebel T3 Digital Camera

It's time to encourage your worthy colleagues to join the Academy. Do you remember who encouraged you to join? Most of us were encouraged by a colleague to become Board Certified, usually in a brief conversation. You can play that same role today with only a small investment your of time. The first Volunteer of the Month is Wendy A. Wert, P.E., BCEE, Environmental Engineer for Sanitation Districts of LA County. She was selected because of her outstanding committee work. 2012 Environmental Engineering Selection & Career Guide

The 2011 Environmental Engineering Selection & Career Guide once again exceeded all expectations! Four thousand guides were printed and distributed to members, affiliates, colleges and universities. The guides have been distributed in 2011 and will continue to be distributed through mid-April 2012 at the respective conferences of NYWEA, LMOP, NJWEA, AWWA, A&WMA, SWANA, APWA, WQTC, EPA's Annual National Sustainable Design Expo; US EPA's P3 Competition on the National Mall; Wasser Berlin, Germany; FWRC; EWRI, AEESP Education & Research Conference; AAEE Dinner Seminar, Orange County; WEFTEC; and other events. Invitations to participate in the 2012 edition will be e-mailed early January. Distribution will begin in April 2012 through mid-April 2013! Reserve your space by February 15, 2012. 2012 Excellence in Environmental Engineering Competition (E3)

Begin planning your entries now-because obtaining permissions from various departments can cause delays. The deadline for entries is February 1, 2012. Last year's program achieved outstanding results in both entries and attendance! The E3 Awards competition is a prerequisite for entering the North American Category of the IWA Project Innovation Awards.

New E3 Category for 2012 - Industrial Waste Practice. The top winner in this category earns AAEE's Award as well as the W. Wesley Eckenfelder Industrial Waste Management Medal!

The E3 Competition for 2012 is an entirely electronic submission process. Participants will be able to submit their completed entry directly online. Judging will also be conducted electronically allowing for an unlimited geographic representation of judges. For details, click here, or for questions, email Sammi at JSOlmo@aaee.net. Remember, the entry deadline is February 1, 2012.

New Marketing & Communications Competition

We all know how important it is to communicate complex and challenging issues to the public at large and other constituents. With this in mind, AAEE is inviting you to enter the inaugural year of this important new award. In cooperation with the International Water Association and the PIA Awards, the Academy is proud to offer a new area of competition and invites Consulting firms and municipalities alike to enter. The winner will be announced at the Excellence in Environmental Engineering Awards Banquet & Conference. The winner will also automatically qualify to enter the IWA's International competition in the North American section. For details, and to enter, email JSOlmo@aaee.net.
