Specialty Certification Renewals Have you sent in your 2010 Specialty Certification renewal? If you have not yet sent in your renewal forms, do so now! If you have lost or misplaced your renewal form, you may download a new one right here. Engineers Without Borders - UCF Engineers Without Borders - UCF is currently working on a project to build a 15 thousand gallon cistern, distribute slow sand filters to help with water purification, and to teach the village how to build composting latrines. The village we are working with is called Mare Brignol and we have been working with the village for a year and a half now. The area were currently focusing on is designing the Cistern, and raising money. We hope to build the cistern in December 2010. Any help we get would be very much appreciated. Our website is at http://ewbucf.org/ and has more detailed information about the project. 2010 Frederick George Pohland Medal Nominations Nominations for the Frederick George Pohland Medal are due by March 15, 2010. This award honors an individual who has made sustained and outstanding efforts to bridging environmental engineering research, education, and practice. Only members of the Association of Environmental Engineering and Science Professors (AEESP) and/or the American Academy of Environmental Engineers (AAEE) are eligible to receive this award. The award will consist of a medal, a $1000 cash award, and reimbursement of travel costs of up to $1,000 for travel to the award ceremony. Click here for more information. Barlaz, Ph.D., P.E., BCEE, Professor, Civil Engineering, North Carolina State University. His lectures will be presented during the Fall 2010 semester.
