2010 Environmental Engineering Selection & Career Guide

Invitations to participate in the 2010 edition will be e-blasted this week to all BCEEs/BCEEMs in private practice. Participating in the Selection & Career Guide is a wonderful way to support the Academy and a a great way to advertise and receive exposure. The Guide is distributed at all AAEE events and activities, and 2010 will see a significant increase in activities including NYWEA, NJWEA, AWWA, A&WMA, EWRI, APWA, AIChE, WEF, and other conferences. If you would like to reserve space, please call Sammi at Academy Headquarters, 410-266-3311 or e-mail at JSOlmo@aaee.net. Don't miss out on this opportunity to have your firm listed!

The 2010 edition will also be published in its entirety in a section on the Academy's web site significantly broadening the exposure to all firms listed. Plus each firm's web site will be linked to the firm's listing so that interested persons can immediately learn more about each firm's capabilities.

Join the "Make A Difference" Membership Drive and Reap the Rewards!

Join AAEE's Make A Difference Campaign by encouraging your colleagues and students to join the Academy. Here are several concrete things you can do:

  1. You can spread the word in your Sponsoring Organization. All of you are members of organizations like ASCE, WEF, AWWA, APWA, SWANA, A&WMA, AEESP and many others. Help spread the word in your local chapter newsletters and at local meetings about AAEE and the value of membership. Shortly, we will have membership drive materials posted at http://www.aaee.net that you can hand to colleagues and students.

  2. You can encourage colleagues individually. Take 5 minutes a week to place a call to a colleague between now and March 1, 2010. Set a time on your calendar as a reminder. If you stay on schedule you will have invited at least 12 people to join. Emphasize that there are membership categories designed to serve environmental engineers at all stages of their careers. Point them to http://www.aaee.net to give them information about what the Academy does and membership categories.

  3. You can encourage groups of people by using e-mail. Construct an e-mail that has your touch and distribute it to people in your workplace and your professional organizations who you think would be good candidates. Offer to help them understand the membership categories and how to apply. Try to do several of these types of e-mails between now and March 1. Send a reminder in February as the time draws near to get applications in (Due March 31, 2010).

  4. Here is the Stimulus Package: This is where you get rewarded for your efforts.

  5. Membership Drive Rewards

    • Five new applicants: 50 AAEE $*
    • Ten new applicants: 100 AAEE $*
    • Grand Prize: Highest total above 20 new applicants: $500 (cash)*

    * AAEE $'s may be used for AAEE merchandise, specialty certification, or dues. New applicants must be "Members", BCEEs, or BCEEMs. Rewards available to existing "Members", BCEEs, or BCEEMs. See AAEE.net

  6. Help spread the word about the AAEE Membership Stimulus Package to your AAEE colleagues!!
