The 2009 Annual Meeting of the Board of Trustees will be held in Orlando, Florida, October 15 at the Renaissance Orlando Airport Hotel. The Welcome Dinner is schedule for the evening of Wednesday, October 14 at a nearby restaurant. The all-day meeting will begin at 8 a.m., Thursday, October 15 with the President's Reception and Installation Dinner to follow.
The unofficial winners in the election of 2010 Officers and Trustees include:
Confirmation of their election will take place at the 2009 Annual Meeting and they will be installed October 15, 2009 along with the new Board of Trustees. Their official terms start January 1, 2010.
Leaving the Board December 31 are William P. Dee, Past President, Thomas E. Decker, Trustee-at-Large, Hector R. Fuentes, representing AEESP, Richard S. Gabrielse, representing NSPE, Stephen G. Lippy, representing SWANA, and Richard D. Kuchenrither, representing WEF.
Reminder to Committee Chairs - President-Elect Flynn is anxious to receive your recommendations for new committee members and/or chairs to replace those whose terms expire in December 2009. We are seeking volunteers interested in helping the Academy through its committees. Committee appointments are for three-year terms. Please send your recommendations and letters of interest to President-Elect Flynn at Academy Headquarters at your earliest convenience. For a list of committees, please refer to the 2009 Who's Who in Environmental Engineering.
Committee Chairs are requested to advise Sammi Olmo by letter on or before September 1, 2009 of any items they intend for the Board to address including Committee Policies & Procedures when it meets October 15. All such documents are needed by September 1 so they can be reviewed by the Executive Committee.
Regional Academy meetings have been organized. These are great opportunities to both learn and network with fellow Academy members. Make your plans to attend!
Recent 2009 meetings have resulted in much interest in the Academy and its certification program. Our most recent events include the NJWEA Conference, Atlantic City, NJ, AWWA's ACE 09, San Diego; CWEA Conference, Palm Springs, and A&WMA Conference, Detroit. We would like to thank the many AAEE members involved in these efforts. Due to the many involved we might have missed some individuals and apologize in advance.

The next issue of the Environmental Engineer will include a summary of the 39th Annual AAEE Awards Luncheon, as well as the AAEE Audited Financial Statements for 2008 and listings of Academy contributors.
All Board Certified Environmental Engineers are reminded to encourage their friends and associates to submit applications for specialty certification now. Early submittal ensures a place in the 2010 examination cycle and enables the Admissions Committee to avoid the last minute rush. Application packages are available online at www.aaee.net.
