WHO'S WHO IN ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING®
The 2008 edition is now available and will be mailed to all members this week.

ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING SELECTION GUIDE
The 2008 edition will also be mailed along with the Who's Who in Environmental Engineering®.

2008 EXAMINATIONS
On April 28 the Admissions Committee completed evaluations of over 100 applications paving the way for examinations to be conducted during July and August. Coupled with holdovers from previous years, more than 140 examinations will be administered this summer. If you are called upon to serve on a peer review panel or as a Chief Examiner, your cooperation and assistance in this effort will be appreciated and you will receive 0.5 PDH credit per interview.

2008 AUDIT BEGINS
Forty-eight BCEEs chosen at random holding Active specialty certificates have received notices for the 2008 audit. Each person audited is to supply the Recertification Committee with documentation substantiating at least 40 Professional Development Hours (PDHs). The PDHs are acquired by continuing professional development activities during calendar years January 1, 2006 through December 31, 2007 to assure compliance with the continuing professional development required for Active specialty certification. Those who have been audited within the past 10 years are exempt from the current cycle.

IT IS NOT TOO EARLY
All BCEEs are reminded to encourage their friends and associates to submit their applications for specialty certification now. Do not wait for the last minute to help an associate with the gift that keeps on giving.

UPDATING EXAMINATIONS
The work of the Academy's Examination Committees (one for each specialty) is never-ending. As soon as an examination is fully updated, it is almost time to begin the cycle again. And, when work on the written examinations is in a phase outside a committee (for example, field testing of replacement test items) there is work needed on the oral examinations. The Hazardous Waste Management Committee and Water Supply and Wastewater Committee are still working on updating their exams.

STAFF SUMMER HOURS
Just a reminder that the Staff Summer Hours started Memorial Day Weekend with closing the office on Friday at noon and will continue until Labor Day Weekend.
