Board of Trustees Meeting
The Board of Trustees held their spring meeting on May 6 and May 7 in Washington, DC.
Highlights of the meeting include:
- Presentation of the 2008 Audit Report (full audit information will be reprinted in the next issue of the Environmental Engineer)
- Approved Eminence Committee Report
- Approved procedures for selecting Honorary Members
- Approved revisions to the Bylaws
- Approved the nomination of Dan Wittliff representing NSPE replacing Richard Gabrielse
- Approved development of a new Sustainability Certification
Officer Elections
The Ballots for electing the 2010 Officers and Trustees were mailed first class the week of April 1. Ballots are due June 15, 2009.

- 2009 Spring NYWEA Technical Conference & Exposition - Jason Lynch, ASEE Trustee, will be the featured speaker at the conference held at the Hotel Thayer, West Point, NY on June 1 at 9 a.m. The title of his speech is "Water and its Role in Army Operations". - MIT is hosting its 2nd International Engineering Systems Symposium, June 15-17, 2009. Experts across the engineering spectrum will provide attendees with the latest advances in research, applications, and future challenges in the field of engineering systems. The third day will feature 50 accepted papers in 12 concurrent sessions covering topics such as energy policy, flexibility, design, and risk analysis. - AAEE/AIDIS/AWWA LUNCHEON - The Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, June 17 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The speaker will be Dr. Peter W. Preuss, Director, EPA National Center for Environmental Assessment. AAEE will be exhibiting at the Conference June 15-17. - AAEE/AIDIS/WEF BREAKFAST - The Breakfast will be held on Monday, October 12 from 7:30 to 9 a.m. in Orlando. The featured speaker is Dr. James Barnard, Black & Veatch.
